CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

At RKBC Children’s Ministry, everything we do is crafted especially for young ones—from infants right up through 5th grade. Every Sunday morning during our main worship service, kids enjoy a special Children’s Message tailored to give them an engaging preview of the sermon theme. It’s a wonderful moment for them to actively join in worship through music and participation. Whether it’s a typical Sunday or one of our special events throughout the year, our top priority is offering a safe, joyful environment where trusted, faithful leaders

help your children discover Jesus and build lasting memories. We can’t wait to welcome your family!

What to Expect on Your First Visit

If you’re joining us for the first time on a Sunday, head straight to our welcome team—they'll gladly walk you over to the children’s check-in area. We’ll collect a few basic details to set up your profile in our system and print name tags for your kids. Your child will receive a sticker with a unique security code, and you’ll get a matching parent tag. Should your child need you at any point during the service, this system allows us to reach you quickly and securely. When the service ends, simply present your matching tag to pick up your child. After

check-in, our team will personally show you to your child’s classroom.

Who Is Looking After Your Children?

Your children are in wonderful hands with our dedicated RKBC Children’s ministry team! Every single one of our children's volunteers is personally known by our ministry staff and shares a deep love for God and children. They serve on a regular rotation so our children experience a fun, Christ-centered environment every single week. For added peace of mind, every adult volunteer (ages 18 and older) completes a thorough background check before serving.

What Will Be Your Children's Experience?

We provide age-appropriate Bible Fellowship classes tailored to every stage of growth:

  • Babies & Toddlers: Enjoy interactive playtime and loving care from our nursery and toddler volunteers.
  • Preschoolers (Ages 3–5): Engage in energetic music and motion, age-specific Bible lessons, hands-on crafts, and active games.
  • Elementary Students: Explore foundational Bible stories, engage in small-group conversations, and participate in creative activities and crafts that reinforce the day's lesson.

Children's Message

Each Sunday morning during the worship service, a team of volunteers rotate with exciting, practical and biblical lessons for children.  If you’re a gifted teacher with a love for children, contact Dawn Anderson to be included in this ministry to our children and church family.

Good News Club

Rocky Knoll partners with other churches to live on mission each Monday during the school year to bring a Bible Club to James M. Brown Elementary School.  Volunteers go on local mission from 2:00 to 4:00 pm each Monday.  Volunteers are needed to grade shepherd, teach, counsel, follow-up and assist in various areas. You will enjoy this vital mission at our church where friendships are made and you will get to experience God each week as you live on mission.  See Tina Sorrells to volunteer.

Vacation Bible School

This ministry is growing each year as children come for three hours of worship, crafts, fellowship and Bible lessons each evening.  Learn to dance to high expression songs.  Help in the kitchen with themed snacks.  Help in recreation or crafts.  Be a group leader.  Volunteer to teach a bible lesson.  See Dawn Anderson to volunteer.

Sports Camp

Another strategic mission and ministry to reach families in our community with the gospel is Sports Camp.  We partner with local coaches and athletes who love Jesus to offer children 7-8 sports through which to learn skills.  Snack crews, coaches, fans (who lead children from station to station), and various other positions offer roles in which to serve each morning of this one-week ministry opportunity in June.  To volunteer ask Pastor John
